My name is James Benett, and I’m a 25-year-old full-time coder, full-stack developer, and the creator of this website. Here’s my story—how I went from being a complete beginner to building a career in tech and creating this platform to share my knowledge with others.
My Journey into Coding
My journey into the world of programming wasn’t a straight path. Back in 2014, when I was in the 8th grade, I was far from being a tech enthusiast. In fact, I was the only one in my class who had zero interest in coding or anything tech-related. While my classmates had some basic knowledge, I was more focused on just getting by—completing the bare minimum to avoid trouble and somehow managing to score decent grades.
Things changed when I entered the 9th grade. A new teacher introduced programming as a mandatory subject, and for the first time, I realized I couldn’t ignore it anymore. At first, I struggled. The concepts felt overwhelming, and I had no idea where to start. I didn’t even have a laptop to practice on, and my family wasn’t supportive of the idea, believing it would distract me from my studies.
Determined to learn, I took matters into my own hands. I started tutoring part-time, saved up, and bought a second-hand laptop with the bare minimum specifications—just enough to run an IDE. With the help of a senior, I began learning the basics of programming, starting with C language. It wasn’t easy, but I discovered a unique way to approach coding: by breaking down problems into smaller, manageable parts and solving them like real-life challenges. This method worked wonders, and soon, I was not only passing my exams but excelling in them.
Why I Created Code with James
As I grew more confident in my coding skills, I realized that the key to mastering programming lies in understanding the logic behind it. I wanted to share this approach with others who, like me, might feel overwhelmed or unsure where to start. That’s why I created Code with James—a place where beginners can learn coding in a way that’s simple, practical, and relatable.

My goal is to make coding accessible to everyone, regardless of their background or experience level.
